Most girls know the pain of finding an awesome shirt that they really want, and having it only come in "unisex" or male sizing. And if you're anything like me, you buy it anyways and spending the next eon bitching about how all the awesome nerdy t-shirts never come in girl sizes and thus look like a sack when a girl does choose to wear one.

That being said, upon the acquisition of a serger, I decided to experiment and see if I could make all my lovely t-shirts fit. And it worked! SO I sat down and figured out a solid method to make properly fitting girl shirts out of unisex shirt. And just a note before we start, the serger isn't necessary, it's just what got me started.

Okay, are you guys ready to MAKE SOME COSTUMES???? YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!

So. I have wonderflex in the mail. Ready for armour making goodness. And I have a wig, and some supplies for headwings of doom. Now I need fabric and.... leather or soemthing that wil look like tooled leather. I'd really prefer the something that would look like it, since I sincerely doubt that tooling leather is going to be a one-month job. Especially since I have no idea how. I think I may need to research how I'm gonna do this more.

And I need to buy shoes that I can mangle. Mangle to bits. D: Poor shoes.

Also, ideas for big Al? Yes? I assume we are buying this bodysuit. Yes? I was looking at ways to put on the designs aaaaaaaaaaand... What do you think of this stuff, Danielle? I think it might be cleaner than an aplique on the spandex, but I dunno? It might also make a good base for the foam muscles, so we don't have to position each piece every time? Just bouncing ideas here. I think I have the cape mostly covered. I'm not quite sure wha exactly the structure for the collar will entail, but I have a fair idea of what I can use. I am hoping you have the gun covered? Since I'm clueless as to where to start there. XD

As for the other bits, it's arm pieces, leg strap, spiky foot pieces, yes? This would be.... mostly carved foam? Or do you havea better idea? And resin for the spikes yes?

We need to get supplies and get this thing started~~ When is everyone good for an armour bee? (There's no sewing! AHHHHH TOO MANY PROPS!!!)

I am super excited to start this~~! ^___^

EDIT: Danielle, have you got pictures developed yet? :O It seems that the only pictures of some of our costumes are the ones we took ourselves. >.< Also: Do you have any fabric you want me to sort and put into the locker for you? I just cleaned out my fabric closet and I've got a system going for categorizing left over stuff. I'll stick in the locker on some shelves as "the fabrc stash," or what not. I can grab them from you next time I'm around, or you can send them with Alex on a gym day, or something.

Okay, so. Squashing the Panic instinct, here. (HOW ARE WE LESS THAN TWO MONTHS FROM CON TIME???)

Danielle~ Do you have your Hinoto wig yet, and if not, where are you planning on getting it from? I'm gonna pick up a Pluto wig from SakuraWigs and I'm still debating whether I should get the wig for Diana. (I'm still waffling on whether or not Diana will be done, actually. XD) But I was thinking if you need a wig we can combine orders?

Also, I need to order feathers and not die from PVC glue fumes. I have to order a LOT of feathers. >.< 

And, um. I could give a progress update, but if I don't get back to essay RIGHT THIS MINUTE, I am going to have to commit suicide.

ARGH SCHOOL, I'D RATHER SEW.

 I need to update this thing more often. If only so that my Hello! icon gets more use. 

I also need to get some time carved out to 1) Finish the damn wig projects in my bathroom so that they're DONE finally.

2) WRITE. OMG WTF YES. Plot bunnies ahoy. I need to get this chapter finished so I can freaking edit it.

3) Finish a couple sewing projects. They're almost done. I just need to take the time.

This would probably all happen if I spent less time browsing the internet. >.> Hmmmmmm.

The second Twin wig came in. =D And my wig cap. Order is returned to the land of cosplay.

Magic question: do we have a Jefferey time this semester? :O Or are we still in the land of unmatched schedules? I miss the sewing time.

And I'm debating what to do with the Manx wig. I'm torn between making the four big curls, and making just big ringlets. :/ Mostly because I can't decide if the four HUGE curls is going to look ridiculous. Opinions, please??? I'm not getting anywhere on my own.

Also, I know I'm the only one interested but did we want to do any winter photoshoots? Or should I just stop pestering you guys until school's over? XD

I picked up all my wing stuff. I'm gonna have a finished structure and a harness soon~~ I need to order feathers and fleshtoned fabric (to cover the straps) if anyone wants in for group orders or anything? I keep forgetting which costumes you're doing Danielle.

ALSO. Diana is on the backburner so that I can make a costume for the friendly hostility competition. Webcomic I love + simple costume + a reason to make any form of cosplay = OMGYESJULIE'SSEWINGNOW. I have nine weeks. I must find a character and a costume and get it made and get some pictures. I will also be needing a wig at some point.

Progress is happening. Pictures will be posted when I get them taken. Mostly of the wings, because they shall be AWESOME. Possibly some wigs and, you know, ACTUAL sewing too.

But not until after essay/seminar research and planning stuffs. ARGH, GO AWAY, SCHOOL. I WANT TO MAKE COSTUMES OF FICTIONAL CHARACTERS NOW.

And write. Got that plot thing rolling now. ^___^ It's a good feeling. Unfortunately, chapter one is showing potential to exceed fifty pages. :/ Chaptering by place is a stupid idea, note to self.

ZOMG.

HI. HAVE YOU MISSED ME YET???? :O

Woooooooooah. I haven't updated in forever. ;_; I need to post more and troll less?

Cosworx wigs got here. I have to return the one, and the one that is missing is coming in the mail~ *just got off the phone with customer service* We're totally missing a Tokyo Babylon wig! Twins need identical hair!

I love the wig I got for Lucifel though (Carmen in 16) and I love the fabric I got. :D I'm gonna love this costume if I ever get it donnnnnnnnnnne.

I've also got TB/X fabric waiting to be started. And somehow, I'm working on Sarra and Valkerie. >.> I need to remember that clear tacky glue =/= fabritac. But it works good, even if it is stiff and pointy after. That jacket is non-washable anyways. =D

I probably should've painted that trim BEFORE I sewed it on though. Oops.

I've got most of one whole piece of scalemail for Valkerie's shoulders done. It weighs a ton but it looks *~@~* BEAUTIFUL*~@~* <3 Though, Danielle, if you're still thinking of using this for Irene's (spelling???) tail you may want to factor in how much it would weigh. Unless you can find some really light scales, it'll probably be MONSTROUSLY heavy.

Ummmm, Matt is out of the hospital. His appendix is gone and the stomach infection has subsided.

Exams are over! Christmas is decorated. My brother is having a concert of some sort right now. Reading is in progress. ;_; 6 more books worth of necessary reading, two of catch up and two+ that are optional for essays.

*READING ANGST*

The satellite guys are here hooking up the satellite dish. They are not as friendly as the future shop tech team, nor are they as efficient. As long as the satellite works when they leave, though, Dad will be happy.

I feel like taking useless pictures of what I've sewn and being all "LOOK WHAT I DID!" simply because I WANT TO. >.> I seem to knee deep in motivation, simply because whenever I have the TIME to do it,  I don't want to do it. GAH. 

Mom rented Snakes on a Plane. And I don't get to watch it. I suppose I've had enough nightmares lately, though. I get to watch the gay hobbits and transformers instead. LotR makes me want to make an Arwen costume. Especially the detailed costume construction galleries. <3 <3 <3

Sooooooooooooooooooooooo. Long time, no lj? XD Midterms ate communication. Sad. ;_;

Ordered sample of the red pleather stretch stuff. DEFINITELY not the right colour. >.< Back tot he drawing board for me. :( And I was excited too. ;_;

Airbrush = WINTASTIC. Just, FYI. Dad helped me get the compressor working and it is quite the great thing. I stab myself ont he needle while cleaning it. *thumbs up* Also washes out pretty darn easy. It is good stuff.

Haven't really been doing much else. Essays. I survived Halloween. <3 I went trick-or-treating with three kids and then we picked up a fourth on the way. The fourth one was only threee and she was in a dragon costume so I had to "fly" her to all the houses (via piggyback). IT WAS SO CUTE. I also got me a small amount of candy that I'm suitably pleased with. =D

I currently have a lot of stuff downloaded. 0.o X, Gankutsuou, Kaori Yuki scans, and Black Lagoon. Has anyone heard of that yet? I saw it on anime club's listing, but I actually downloaded it because of a random cosplay that made me go "huh, that looks interesting." That and it's not very long. XD That's a bonus.

My computer is fried though, so it all has to be moved. D: Apparently the motherboard needs replacing and it is "unsafe" to use. I should be getting a new one by next week. >.< Essays are coming and I must be able to type them on something that is not a mac!

In other news? I'm worried about Collin. Because I fear like that for comic characters. I also feel the urge to print that comic out and binder it. Because "to binder" is the new verb, Alex. XP 

I think that's it. I'm drinking tea out of a cup that is bigger than my usual cereal bowl, and I am happy.

Except for this essay that I have to finish correcting like OMG NOW. Urk. >.<

Ummmmm... So. Alice's bow is being non-stiff. :/  I'm going to add more interfacing and see if that helps. D: Otherwise, I dunno? I would have to experiment with snaps, or wired seams as a last resort. Hmmm.

CHAINMAIL SAMPLES CAME IN. So did my petticoat and my order of jewelery. <3 I got free earrings. But I have to make my bracelet a couple links bigger. *gigs out the jewelery pliers*

Socks should be in tomorrow/soon-ish. Ringlord - extra win for being located in Canada. XD No duty! YAY!!!

I totally didn't get around to trying out the airbrush yet. ;_; I finished my essay too late to play around with it. It's officially being brought to storage on Saturday for a trial run, though. It and some gundams. >:) 

I am randomly looking at wigs for Pluto! D: Old costume is old, why do I still feel the urge to spend money on it? (It's because I was looking at bow tutorials - they're all for "sailor scout" bows. >.<) Sakura Wigs sells a good wig for it. http://sakurawigs.com/wigs_unstyled.php

I am not going to buy that unless I magically find a reason to WEAR that costume again.

Okay, for socks, it looks like Welovecolors.com is winning for selection. I looked at sock-dreams but they didn't have many COLOURS.  And I can't think of anywhere else. XD So, um, Orders please? Or suggestions for another site.

(We need Mana tights, Seth tights, Alice socks and Hokuto socks as of now that I can think of.)

I'm also debating on petticoats. XD I can't decide on a size. 0.0 Looking at this seller. I'm thinking the 4 hoop would be most versatile. :/ I don't really want to own a large collection of multi-sized petticoats. XD

Also, forgive me, but I'm going to harp on about photoshoots for a bit. XDD

Splitting them by season, adding location ideas afterwards. Totally just suggestions here, so input would be nice. ^_^


XD Okay I is done. EVerything else is kinda not on the list yet. We shall discuss them later.

And does anyone want anything from Denver Fabrics? I need red silk (because fabricland? FAIL.) and a buttload of frog clasps from SOMEWHERE. Like. A LOT of frog clasps.

I should be reading and sewing~ But I felt like making an inane post on lj instead. XD Much more fun.

Classes are good so far. Archery starts on Sunday. I'm REALLY tired and have no idea why.

Addendum to the last post: ficcers, Kyouya is a host. He happens to budget a lot and sell things as well. He may not be popular, but he does in fact host. Please stop trying to convince me that he doesn't. You can't compete with canon.

 FUCKING HELL.

 Why is it that all the well written fics stop just short of a full blown pairing? Why do people like to write "oh hay and these guys r lyke in Luvvvvvv~" because they can? DEVELOP THE RELATIONSHIP DAMNIT. Nothing more fucking frustrating than reading a relationship develop to find out that, hey, they're ALREADY screwing! Here's a crappy lime. They were just being more public about it than normal! :D 

THAT DOESN'T WORK.

ARGH. I think I need to get off the pit. *shock and horror* I haven't felt the urge to actually HUNT DOWN the good writers in freaking years. I also have the EXTREME, OVERPOWERING, UNRELENTING DESIRE TO WRITE FANFICTION. That urge is always a bad one!

(Guess what I'm doing during break tomorrow... ~_~;;; )

Seriously, if I don't find goodish fics soon, I'm going to blow up. It is really NOT helping that I can't find any good Gundam Wing fics without getting truly disgusted at the fandom, either. If my two main obsessions at the moment are ABSOLUTELY FRUSTRATING to find fics for, what am I going to do with myself?

And I'm too afraid to fic for Cain because I don't want to be spoiled for the last volumes. That would upset me greatly. D: And I got sick of Tokyo Babylon because my wish fulfillment in that involves Subaru's life not sucking, and that's so against canon that I either a) can't stomach the extreme canon-neglect  or b) It's wirtten in "LOL AU" style. >.< AU's aren't always bad but this really JUST ISN'T AS GOOD WITHOUT THE CANON. ;_______;

And I feel no interest in anyhting else right now. ALL I WANT IS KYOUYAXTAMAKI SMUT. IN CHARCATER AND WITHOUT RANDOM LEAPS IN LOGIC OR COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR CANON. And preferably with a plot. That makes enough sense to be IN Ouran. (Seriously? THAT'S NOT VERY FUCKING HARD. THIS SERIES IS RIDICULOUS. IF YOUR PLOT IS ~*TOO*~ RIDICULOUS? YOU PROBABLY HAVE A SERIOUS WRITING ISSUE.)

XD I got sick of Louie being the top post in my journal.

I'm downloading Avenue Q! YAY! random urges. XD MUST SEE. Only 4 hours if I'm lucky.

I'm looking into airbrushes. I think between cosplay usages and the WAY TOO MANY gundams I have to paint, it may be worth it. Seriously. Only 13 Gundams that require paint, SO FAR. I plan to buy more. I'm gonna have a complete collection~~~ XD

That $400 gundam still does not seem ridiculous. Obviously my collection of fandom has over powered my sanity. D:

I want to PHOTOSHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT. I ALWAYS want to photo shoot. XDDD Too bad I need ot fix the costumes first. D:

Okay. So. Been watching Louie cause Mom wouldn't let me near the comp (and thus Big O) until I stopped bleeding. And I still love the show even though it's fanservice-y at times. It's huge fantasy junk though. so I'm fairly certain I'm gonna get a big "NO" for my group proposal. XDDD

Genie gets criss-cross hair bands as well, a gold necklace thing, Boob ties (not shown here) and two bracelets. :O And soemtimes she loses her pant thing. And I think the arm pad is in ONE pic. Sometimes her underpants go from brown to white. :O Yes I know this is a naked costume. XD I hate her winter version though. T_T It's ugly. 

Melissa gets a second cape clasp, Her collar becomes detailed armor stuff and her hat gets prettier armour, mostly. You get some better details of her sleeve and belt too. And different collar details, depending on the pic. She also gets a matching butt-flap to her front flap thing? XD

Merrill gets many jacket clasps. XD I don't know why, she jsut sprouts buckles. And embroidery/designs on the seleeves. And in one pic she gets sock cuffs? I can't find that one though.

Miss Rowling, I salute you.

Snape has been my favorite character since the beginning of this series, and you played all his cards exactly right. In fact, you did better to him than I had expected. His motives, his thoughts, the subversive and mysterious qualities of his actions: they were all beautifully executed. I may dislike your obvious, slightly typical main pairings, but through this one character you have earned my fidelity as a reader.

However, in the next series? Can you try not to kill all the supporting characters that I like? Seriously. You killed every single supporting character that I had grown an attachment to. Right down to the damn pets.

I was gonna do a SERIUS RITER post, but my brain copped out. D: I swear I had plot stuff to babble nonsensically about, but normal post will work too. XD

My sister STILL has no car. And next time she is too lazy to get up in the morning after keeping me awake past midnight? She's not going to be borrowing my car.

Nope. Not even if it's an emergency. She would have to be in danger of death, and in that case someone else should be driving her.

Seriously. I leave it at home to save gas and SHE brings it in. To pick up her exams. WE OFFERED HER A FRICKING RIDE. *ANGER* She SO owes me gas money.

And will someone explain to me why I'm thinking up poses for a costume I won't be doing until at LEAST 2009? More likely 2010? >.<

I get to clean tomorrow~! YAY! ^__^ As long as I get these bills entered, I'll be at home babysitting until 3-ish. And I can get my craft shelves and sewing supplies and BEDROOM cleaned. <3 The kid thinks he's going to laze around? He's gonna be put to work! XD BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Actually, he'll probably be playing video games until I'm done cleaning. >.> And hanging out Aunt ada's dresses. They need to be aired. D:

Ummmm.  I posted an angry boob rant? XD I was just tired and sick of threads like this and this. People are ridiculous. Especially when they are prebubescent tweens that don't seem to realize that the COSTUME and CONSTRUCTION are the important parts of cosplay.

Otherwise I think that's all for me? Not much life going down. XD Ummmmm. Pick photoshoot locations!!! GO NOW! And help me pick out some churches to visit for Angel Sanctuary!

I hope the electricians didn't think my wing piping was theirs. D: They had the same PVC pipes, except mine were perfectly formed. I will have to check when I get home!

lol. I'm having fun with wings. Fun in the sarcastic smiley face way. XD I need to cut my pipe but before I cut I need to know how long my wings are gonna be. And for that I need to figure out how/where I'm going to pu them on my body. XDD
 
I'm kinda leaning towards just under my shoulder blades or between them. I think that would look less weird than the lower to mid back region. I'm pretty free with interpretation since Yun Kouga's wings look different in every picture. XD I'm aiming mostly for traditional angel wings. But I don't want the bird-shape of the wings to look idiotic, which I think it will if I start them too high. :/

I dunno. DILEMNA. I'll probably take a pic and mutilate it into wing options in the near future. XDD

And I can NOT for the LIFE of me get my wing joints on Fariy park to stay steady. :/  I'm tempted to douse them in caulk. Or hot glue. Which may happen. I like how they look but I refuse to continue with the unsteady joints. D:

I suppose it's experiment time. XDD

And I'm still trucking through repairs. Alexiel just needs earrings now, Misato has white trim that is BEAUTIFUL AND WONDERFUL. Petticoats are getting waist bands. And corsets are being IGNORED BECAUSE THEY ARE STUPID.

Cosplay is goooooooooooooooood. XD

Anyhow. I am back to sewing. Ora needs interfacing, boning and patience. XDD Tifa needs three buttons on her buttcape. >.< Cloud is getting a pocket! Manx wig is dyed!!! But not to the right colour. >.< 

I needs help with Ora wig and with Manx wig colour.

Une vest fabric is causing me a dilemna. I don't know if I should TRY to bleach it and risk ruining my fabric or if I should just leave it and let it be a tad too dark and green. :/ Next time I bring more references.

I NEED TO GO BACK TO WORK, OBVIOUSLY. XDDD

Official Costume percentages based on finished items! I'm not counting anything that's half-finished, or partially made. *pout*

Cloud - 65% (Pants still need modification.)

Ora - 10% (The wig hasn't been covered yet so I can't even count that. D:)

Jill - 65% (T-shirt needs paint.)

Scully - 100% (I put this because it makes me feel good. XD)

Sarra - 10%

Manx - 50% (Shirt needs a clasp! Then I get to add it.)

Une - 45%

Tifa - 70% (Buttcape needs three more buttons!)

Fairy park - 10% (Corsets are UNDER CONSTRUCTION LIKE WOAH.)

And hopefully this pathetic display will make me work FASTER.
